ALGERIA - This groom definitely doesn't buy the idea of 'for better for worse'
A court in Algeria has heard a case brought forward by a groom who is suing his wife for fraud, after he saw her without makeup for the first time.
The husband was so shocked after seeing his bride's face the morning after their wedding that he couldn't even recognize her; he even thought she was a "thief who came to steal at his apartment".
A source from the court said "The groom told the judge that he could not recognize his wife after she washed the make-up off her face.
He said he was deceived by her as she used to fill up her face with make-up before their marriage.
He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before their marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief".
The groom is now seeking $20000 in damages.
