Biafran members protests in Aba, markets to be shut down on Monday

Things seems to be getting hotter - Today, in Aba, Abia State, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) took to the streets to protest the arrest of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and also to demand for the freedom of the people of Biafra.

The protests started this morning and is still ongoing. The IPOB members aren’t intimidated by the presence of Police officers. The protesters flooded the streets of Abayi, Faulks Road, Umuocham, and threatened to beat down the officers of the Army.

The Nigerian army are being challenged and mocked as majority of the crowd asking the officers who have their guns cocked, just how many people they intend to shoot.

Gunshots were heard around Abayi as officers attempted to curtail the activities of the IPOB, but they were outnumbered and forced to stand back as the youths continued their parade, waving Biafran flags and placards. At St. Pauls Junction, Abayi, the protesters blocked off the road, causing heavy gridlock. But after an hour of chanting, they let up and continued their match down to Osisioma.
