Governor Nyesom Wike dismisses Dakuku Peterside’s assassination story

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has dismissed Dakuku Peterside’s assassination story.
Wike also accused the defeated Rivers State APC governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside and his defeated running Asita Asita of hijacking results from Isiokpo in Ikwere LGA on Sunday.

The governor also stated that Peterside and his security details opened fire and killed an aide to his Chief of Staff, Emeka Woke.

In an interactive session with newsmen on Sunday, Wike said that most military men deployed for the elections were used by APC leaders to hijack materials and that they also illegally arrested PDP members in other to manipulate the process.

“Remember I warned that today’s Nigeria is not like yesterday’s Nigeria. Things that were done wrongly before cannot be done wrongly now. I warned that the people will resist any attempt to rig,”“Now they have the federal might, army, police, INEC and DSS but we have the people,” Wike said.
He said that it was unfortunate that the military has been reduced to this level when they will be used against public interest. He said the number of military men unleashed to intimidate and harass Rivers people is regrettable as they failed to tackle security challenges.

The Rivers government says Dakuku's security attacked Chief Emeka Woke unsuccessfully which is why he was prompt to claim assassination on his part, having reasonably failed to apprehend the Chief of Staff. Dakuku allegedly directed his security details to murder an aide to the Chief of Staff to Governor Wike while fleeing with some result sheets from Ikwerre Local Government Area.

Dakuku had yesterday alleged an assassination attempt on his life  by some 'PDP youths' led by Nyesom Wike's chief of staff Emeka Woke.
