Kidnappers release Julius Berger employee in Ogun
An expatriate with German construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria, who was kidnapped by four gunmen last Friday, has been released.
The expatriate’s colleague was shot when they were ambushed by their abductors and he later died in a hospital.
They were on their way to the company’s quarry at Ogbere, in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State when the incident occurred.
The deputy spokesman for the police in the state, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, said he was released in the early hours of Thursday, and he had been reunited with the officials of the company in Lagos.
Oyeyemi, who was silent on whether any ransom was paid or not, said the command would make the state safe and conducive for socio-economic activities adding that, members of the public should be ready at all times to support and cooperate with the command.
PUNCH Metro learnt that in less than two months, this was the third case of kidnapping in the state. First was Rachel Hassan, the mother of a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Remmy Hassan.
The second case was that of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun.
