Iconic Anglican Archbishop, Desmond Tutu and his wife Leah laid a criminal charge against 30-year-old grand-daughter Ziyanda Tutu.
Tutu told Netwerk24 on Thursday she was deeply hurt by the developments and said the issue could have been dealt with in a more private manner. She said her grandparents were the people with the money and power. She said she would be handing herself over to the police today, Friday. Ziyanda wouldn’t say what the charge was.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu ina statement said they upset and heartbroken that it had come to that.
"In response to inquiries regarding statements posted on social media by our granddaughter, Ziyanda Palesa Tutu, we confirm that a criminal charge has been laid and that police are conducting an investigation."
"We are naturally distressed and deeply saddened. The Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation hopes and prays that the family will soon be able to put this incident behind it."
