So what do you do when you've set yourself a deadline for getting married, but you're still single?
If your name is Yasmin Eleby, then you marry yourself . . .
According to Black Art in America, Yasmin had made herself a promise that she'd be married by the time she turned 40.
"Yasmin chose to have one of her sisters who is also a minster, help her say vows, in a spiritual ceremony - because you can't legally marry yourself in America," the site reported.
Marrying yourself makes absolutely no sense, but hasn't stopped people from doing it.
Last year, a British woman named Grace Gelder also married herself.
She even proposed to herself on a park bench on Parliament Hill in London, The Guardian reported.
"I’d been essentially single for almost six years and built up this brilliant relationship with myself," Grace said.
