Thando Thabethe joins generations-The legacy

Thando Thabethe has officially joined the cast of Generations: The Legacy. Thando will be playing Nolwazi, a girl born and bred in the township. Nolwazi, however, has an advantage.

She’s got an education and a fascination for people different from her and her background so she moves comfortably amongst rich, educated or powerful people.

She reads and is well spoken. In a room she’s the one with the brightest smile, the most confident and never apologizes for her presence. She is passionate, intelligent, playful, witty and lively.

She’s not one for drama and would rather focus on achieving her goals and getting ahead than be involved in conflict. But when disrespected or provoked, she is hot-tempered and will get her claws out if you step out of line.

She’s loyal to her friends and expects exactly the same from them. Those who are will always been rewarded with warmth. She is a great gal pal. But she will destroy anyone who betrays her or hurts the people she loves.

Thando has been a fan of the show for years and is thrilled to join the show’s reboot. “I'm really excited to be joining the biggest soapie in the country, especially as it starts its new journey as Generations: The Legacy,”

Thando says. “I've already been privileged enough to star alongside the talent that is Manaka Ranaka and I'm so thrilled with the reception both the cast and crew have given me so far.

I am an actress through and through and cannot wait to show South Africa what I'm capable of. I even had to cut my hair for this role. I literally sobbed but that is how invested I am in depicting Nolwazi ”

Thando is no stranger to the television world. She presented the wildly popular music show Club 808 and SABC 1’s popular 1’s & 2’s, a fast-paced talent show in search of SA’s next big DJ and music producer, alongside DJ Sphectacula and DJ Naves.

The star has appeared on shows such as Mzansi Love: Kasi Style, Intersexions, My Perfect Family, Kowethu and will now add Generations: The Legacy to that already impressive list.

Alongside her many TV projects, Thando also co-hosts The Roger Goode show on 5FM every weekday from 16:00 – 19:00 and occupies her own slot on Sundays from 10:00 – 14:00.

Thando has been slated as one of 2015’s Women To Watch and her new role on the soapie proves that 2015 is her year to shine.

Generations: The Legacy airs weekdays at 20:00 on SABC 1.
