Dolphins found stranded on Japan beach coast

Nearly 150 melon headed dolphins (6.5 to 10 feeets) were found beached in Hokota, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, this morning. The reason for the beaching is unclear.

According to the Hakota municipal government, many of them are very weak, though local residents are trying to put them back in the water.

The dolphins were found along a four-kilometer (about 2.4 mile) section of the beach. Efforts are being made to rescue these sea beauties.
